How to remove stubborn stains from carpet
1.Remove any solids and excess liquid
The first step to rejuvenating your beloved carpet is to scrape off any excess solids with a spoon or butter knife. This will ensure that the spill doesn’t turn into a permanent stain.
Then, with a clean white absorbent cloth, blot away any excess liquid. Repeat until the cloth no longer picks up any more liquid or colour.
Tip: Always blot – never rub! Rubbing can permanently damage carpet fibres and entrench the spill deeper into the carpet, creating even harder-to-remove stains.
2.Apply Diggers White Spirits
Before using Diggers White Spirits on the desired carpet surface, first, test it on a small area to ensure that it doesn’t leave a mark.
Then, dab the stained area with a lint-free cloth soaked in Diggers White Spirits, and blot dry. Repeat this method until the stain no longer transfers to the cloth.
Tip: Cover the area that you want to clean with a 1.5 cm layer of paper towel. Apply pressure with a heavy object and replace the paper towel until dry.
