How to Use DIGGERS™ Timber Cleaner (Concentrated Oxalic Acid)
- Prepare the area – Remove excess dirt and debris from the timber surface. Protect surrounding areas such as metal fittings, paintwork, or plants with plastic sheeting or by wetting them before use.
- Dilute the solution – Wearing gloves and eye protection, mix 1 part DIGGERS™ Timber Cleaner with 4 parts water in a plastic container.
- Apply to timber – Wet the timber surface with clean water. Liberally scrub the diluted solution onto the timber using a stiff scrubbing brush. Allow the solution to penetrate for 10–20 minutes.
- Rinse thoroughly – Rinse the timber well with fresh water to remove all cleaner residues. Failure to rinse completely may cause discolouration, particularly under clear finishes.
- Allow to dry – Leave the timber to dry for 24–48 hours before painting, staining, or oiling. To check dryness, tape a small piece of plastic wrap to the timber surface. If moisture forms underneath within 2 hours, allow additional drying time and retest.
