How does Linseed Oil work?

When linseed oil is applied to a porous surface it fills the pores and as it is exposed to the air it gels to form a protective film. The film is generally impervious to water, heat, scratches and most stains.

NOTE: Soak rags in water as spontaneous ignition may occur on drying. Dispose of rags by controlled incineration or at an approved landfill.

How to Use DIGGERS™ Raw Concentrate Linseed Oil

1. Prepare your surface

Ensure the timber or cricket bat is clean and dry before application. For best results, clean the surface using DIGGERS™ Mineral Turpentine to remove any dirt, wax, or old finishes.

2. Thin the oil for better penetration

Mix DIGGERS™ Raw Concentrate Linseed Oil 50:50 with DIGGERS™ Mineral Turpentine to thin the oil. This helps it soak deeper into the timber, providing better protection.

3. Apply thin coats

Use a brush, roller, or spray gun to apply two thin coats. Rub the oil well into the wood for best absorption.

4. Allow drying time

Being the longest drying linseed oil, allow sufficient drying time between coats to avoid sticky surfaces.

5. Clean excess oil

Wipe off any excess oil with a clean lint-free cloth to ensure a smooth finish and prevent tackiness.

6. Soak all rags in water

After use, soak all rags that have come into contact with linseed oil in a bucket of water. Linseed oil-soaked rags can spontaneously combust, always handle disposal carefully and refer to safety directions on label.
